Sandor Radai was putting a band together. He gave me three rough versions of songs. I could audition and write the vocal and lyrics. I had a week. The three songs became We Are Machine, Breakdown and Descend.
Sandor and I held auditions for a drummer and bassist. Once Ole Larson and Todd McGinity joined, the songwriting process truly began. Ole's metal background forced a harder edge to the music, while Todd's varied background created the polish to everything. The Dome sound was formed.
After a couple of open mic nights, Dome was ready for our first show February 2017. The set were all originals, no covers.
We had played a few shows and word was sent to the Pyramid Cabaret about us. We were anonymously entered into Indie Week Winnipeg, a competition to find the best Indie band in Winnipeg. I gave my best as the vocalist and one of the principle songwriters for Dome, competed against various genres of music, making it to the final.
Dome played a number of shows at various venues across the city, playing with some of the most exciting and engaging bands.
In February 2018, Dome released their debut album We Are Machine.
As true independents, Dome recorded their album in house. No outside parties were brought in.
All of the mastering was done in house. No outside parties were brought in for the final stage of the making of the CD.
Dome performed a large number of shows at the Pyramid Cabaret. This was one of them from August 23rd 2017.
